Programs inside Express Entry
Express Entry manages three federal programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). Each has distinct eligibility requirements. A candidate must qualify for at least one program to enter the pool.
How the CRS works
The Comprehensive Ranking System assigns points based on age, education, language, work experience, and other factors. Candidates with higher scores receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs) during draw rounds. Draws can be program-specific or general. Scores required for invitations vary over time.
What eligibility means
Meeting program requirements means your profile may be valid for the pool. It does not mean you will receive an invitation at a particular score. The current cut-off depends on the draw type, pool composition, and IRCC selection priorities at the time.
Provincial and other pathways
Provincial Nominee Programs can add 600 points to a CRS score when a nomination is issued. Some draws are reserved for PNP, French-language, or sector-specific candidates. These pathways should be reviewed alongside federal eligibility.
