Employment Permit to Stamp 4 Progression
Stamp 4 is an immigration permission, not a new overseas visa category. Eligible employment permit holders may become able to move to Stamp 4 after meeting the applicable residence and employment conditions.

What Stamp 4 allows
Stamp 4 permission allows the holder to live and work in Ireland without an employment permit. It does not itself represent a visa. It is an immigration permission granted after qualifying residence.
Qualifying conditions by permit type
The required qualifying period and conditions vary depending on the type of employment permit held. Critical Skills Employment Permit holders generally qualify after a shorter period than General Employment Permit holders.
Not the same as permanent residence
Stamp 4 is a renewable immigration permission. Permanent residence in Ireland requires a separate application after meeting a longer qualifying period of lawful residence.
