UK Global Talent Visa
Global Talent is based on strong evidence of achievement or promise in eligible fields. Most applicants need endorsement unless they hold a qualifying prestigious prize. It is different from ordinary employer-sponsored work.

Eligible fields
Academia and research, digital technology, and arts and culture. Each field has its own endorsing body and evidence criteria. The standard differs between Exceptional Talent (established leaders) and Exceptional Promise (emerging talent).
Endorsement route vs. prize route
Most applicants apply through an endorsing body such as UKRI, Tech Nation successor, or Arts Council England. A small number of applicants who hold qualifying prestigious prizes may apply without endorsement.
Settlement progression
Global Talent visa holders can apply for settlement (ILR) after three years if endorsed as Exceptional Talent, or five years if endorsed as Exceptional Promise.
