Students enrolled in courses longer than 90 days generally need a Long Stay D visa before travelling to Ireland. After arrival, registration with IRP is required. The Third Level Graduate Programme offers post-graduation stay options for qualifying graduates.

Visa and IRP registration
The Long Stay D visa is the entry visa for students. After arrival, students must register with Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) and obtain an Irish Residence Permit with Stamp 2 permission within 90 days.
Work rights on Stamp 2
Stamp 2 holders may work up to 20 hours per week during term time and up to 40 hours per week during the June-September and December-January holiday periods.
Post-graduation
The Third Level Graduate Programme allows eligible graduates of qualifying Irish third-level programs to remain in Ireland to seek graduate-level employment under Stamp 1G for 12 or 24 months.
