AEWV as the main route
The Accredited Employer Work Visa replaced several previous employer-sponsored visas. The employer must be accredited by Immigration New Zealand before they can hire offshore workers through the AEWV.
Green List connection
Some AEWV roles qualify for Work to Residence (Tier 2) or Straight to Residence (Tier 1) pathways. The occupation, pay, and registration requirements of the specific Green List role determine which pathway applies.
Post-study and partner work rights
Post Study Work Visa, Partner of Worker Work Visa, and Partner of Student Work Visa provide work rights to graduates and eligible partners.
